By accessing or using BuildingCalc, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the site or use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our users. The types of information we collect can be broken down into the following categories:

a) Information You Provide Directly

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message content. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiries and provide customer support. We do not require account registration to use our calculators, and we do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, health information, or government-issued identification numbers.

b) Calculator Input Data

When you use our construction calculators โ€” including theConcrete Calculator, Painting Calculator, Electrical Calculator, Plumbing Calculator, Flooring Calculator, Roofing Calculator, Masonry Calculator, Excavation Calculator, Ceiling Calculator, Gravel Calculator, Stairs Calculator, Drywall Calculator, Fence Calculator, orRebar Calculator, you enter measurement data such as dimensions, material quantities, and project specifications. This data is processed entirely within your browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. All calculations are performed locally using client-side JavaScript.

c) Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our website, our hosting infrastructure may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time and date of visit, and time spent on each page. This information is used for analytics purposes to help us understand how visitors interact with our site, improve our services, and detect potential security threats. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools such as Plausible Analytics or Umami, which do not use cookies and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR regulations without requiring cookie consent banners.

d) PDF and Excel Export Data

When you generate a PDF quotation or Excel spreadsheet from our calculators, you may optionally enter company details such as company name, phone number, address, email, and client information. This data is processed on our server solely for the purpose of generating the downloadable document. The generated files are returned to you directly and are not stored on our servers after the download completes. The server-side processing uses temporary memory buffers that are cleared immediately after the file is sent to your browser.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

BuildingCalc uses a minimal number of cookies and tracking technologies. We believe in a privacy-first approach and have designed our site to function with as few cookies as possible.

Essential Cookies:We may use a single session cookie to remember your language preference across pages and to protect our contact form against spam and cross-site forgery. This cookie does not contain any personal information and expires when you close your browser. It is strictly necessary for the site to function as you have configured it.

Local Storage:We may use browser local storage to save your preferred language setting and calculator preferences. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's local storage.

Consent Choice:When you answer our cookie banner, we store your choice (buildcalc_consent= accepted or rejected, kept for 12 months) in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every visit. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

Advertising:We do not currently display third-party ads. When advertising is introduced, we will use Google AdSense, which uses cookies (such as_gadsand_gac_) to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads if you consent and non-personalized ads if you decline. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time via our cookie banner ("Cookie Settings" in the footer) or atGoogle's advertising policies page. No advertising cookies are set before you make a choice, and declining never blocks access to our calculators.

Third-Party Scripts:Our styling and interactivity ship as local files; we also load the Inter font from Google Fonts and a small set of libraries (Alpine.js, Three.js) from CDNs. These providers may collect anonymous usage statistics as part of their standard operation. We do not use remarketing pixels or behavioral tracking scripts. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or sell data to advertising networks.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to opt out of non-essential cookies. Use the "Cookie Settings" link in our footer to accept or reject advertising cookies at any time. You can also disable cookies entirely through your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of our calculators.
